Do you share our vision?  Do you share our beliefs?  Do you want to make a difference?

Are you passionate about improving the lives of girls and women through sport?

If so, this role could be what you’re looking for. We are looking for a dynamic fundraiser to build and elevate our fundraising and supporter engagement at a time of increasing ambition in the charity. Working with our ground-breaking charity you can help to ensure women and girls break free of limiting stereotypes and participate in sport for its joy as well as its physical, social, and mental benefits! You will have a passion for our cause, have a flair for building supporter relationships, and be driven and hungry to create impactful cases for support, across all income streams.

We are looking for someone who can build brilliant relationships at all levels, can build a movement of support for our cause and is passionate about transforming the lives of women and girls. As our Fundraising Officer you would be working closely with all teams, from policy and insights, to finance, partnerships, and communications. With an eye on all income streams and generating new business opportunities, you will be responsible for stewarding individual supporters and building major donor relationships which enable the charity to continue advocating for women and girls and influencing change.

Main responsibilities are:

  • Build and activate our individual giving programme across a range of supporters.

  • Create dynamic supporter experiences and stewardship of our funders by collaborating with colleagues and utilising our CRM database.

  • Build successful applications for funding by working collaboratively across all teams.

  • Maintain an effective pipeline of prospective funders by working with the engagement team to keep horizon scanning.

  • Provide monitoring and reporting to funders demonstrating the impact of our work.

What we’re looking for from you:

  • Experience working within fundraising or supporter engagement for a leading-edge not-for-profit or beliefs-based organisation.

  • Excellent relationship management and interpersonal skills with the ability to make a strong call to action for our supporters through excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.

  • Ability to take responsibility, prioritise workload, and meet project and reporting deadlines against clear guidance and goals.

  • Some understanding of the political, cultural, and social issues affecting gender equality and women's relationship with sport and exercise, as well as the integral role sport plays in building resilience and changing lives.

  • A desire to build a career in the fundraising not-for-profit sector and take any opportunity in your stride.

  • Ideally, an understanding of charity legislation and headlines of data protection and fundraising laws and best practice.

  • Use of Microsoft Office specifically Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel and CRM systems (Raisers Edge and ETapestry).

If you think your experience is relevant, you share our vision and can make things happen you might be just right.  You should be outward looking, thrive in a fast-paced environment, with a 'can do' attitude. Come and be part of our small but ground-breaking charity, in the high profile and fast-moving arena of women’s sport with plenty of scope to make your mark on the cause!

Women in Sport is committed to a working culture where everyone can be authentic and true to themselves. We strive to represent the full diversity of the communities we serve. We value the quality and diversity of thought that is only possible from a team made up of individuals from broad range of backgrounds, who can each bring their different experiences and perspectives. For this reason, we encourage applications from people of all ages, male allies as well as women, from disabled people, and from diverse communities in terms of ethnicity and religion.

Please see the job description for full list of responsibilities and the criteria required for this role.

Our charity believes it is wrong for girls and women to be excluded from the joy, fulfilment and lifelong benefits of sport. Sport can transform lives, but due to gender stereotypes, institutional bias and gendered economic and health inequalities far too many women and girls are missing out.

Women in Sport has been working since 1984 to change this. We know that sport can give girls and women resilience, courage, self-belief and a sense of belonging through which they can learn vital life skills such as leadership and teamwork. That’s why our purpose is to create lasting positive change for women and girls in sport and society.
